2008 - 2009 Florida TSA State Officers

President
Katie Orovecz,
Lakewood Ranch High School

I am thrilled to be serving as your State President and I am looking forward to a great year. This is my 6th and final year in TSA as a student. I hope to accomplish many things during my term to make this outstanding organization even better.

Vice President
Suzanne Richardson
Kathleen High School

This is my seventh year in TSA, and my second term as a state officer. I encourage everyone to consider running for State Office. Working with the Officer Team has been one of my greatest accomplishments. Competitively, I have won first place in Imaging Technology, Innovations and Inventions, and helped my middle school win the Spirit Award at the State Conference. I have also placed top ten in numerous events including Digital Photography, Promotional Graphics, and Extemporaneous Presentation. Besides being a senior at Kathleen High School, I am also dual enrolled at Southeastern University and Polk Community College. Aside from TSA, I like to watch movies and play softball with my friends.

Secretary
Evan Ticknor
Poinciana High School

In my 4 years of TSA I have held the chapter office of Reporter and Vice-President while at Horizon Middle School. Through those years, the experience I have gained through competitions and conferences has been priceless. The leader I have grown to be has made me all the more ready to handle the task and obstacles coming for the years ahead. I have many goals this year, to of which mainly concerns the expansion of TSA, securing the welfare of current chapters, and holding the State Officer performances to a high degree. I hope every team takes advantage of the new competitions coming into the organization this year. My heart has been in this organization from day one, and that will continue on throughout my remaining time with TSA.

Treasurer
Tyler Waid
Southeast High School

Throughout the past few years, TSA has played a major role in my life. I started TSA in 6th grade at Haile Middle School and have held a local office every year since. After TSA, I love to play basketball and golf, or hang out with my friends or youth group. Some of my most valuable TSA experiences are in my competitive events, like Medical Technology Challenge. I have also gained valuable leadership experience in my local and state officer positions. Some of my life ambitions include completing the IB program and going to college, staying close with my church and family, and working on my own leadership skills and putting them into use. Furthermore, as your State Treasurer, I am committed to this organization and all of its members. I have made it my goal to improve this organization as best as I can.

Reporter
Shivi Kumar
Lake Region High School

I am in my 3rd year in TSA as your Reporter and am enjoying every moment of it. I joined TSA in the 9th grade. I would have come earlier but since my middle school did not have a chapter I did not know about TSA and how awesome it is. Because of that I take this office and put forth my efforts in a hope to spark an interest for TSA among many other individuals at the high school and middle school levels and also to make our massive Florida delegation ever larger. I actually have 3 major life goals I wish to accomplish. One, I want to attend Harvard University. Wish me luck! Two, I want to enter politics at some point of my life. And three, I would like to become an influential motivational speaker. I hope you all are looking forward to the Leadership and State Conferences and I hope to meet all of you there.

Sergeant-At-Arms
Mauricio Miranda

Salutations! Florida TSA, My name is Mauricio Miranda, but I tend to go by Tito. I'm currently a senior at the IB program at Bartow high school. I am of Nicaraguan heritage, but I was born in Miami and now currently reside in Bartow. I've been in TSA since the 8th grade and favorite event would have to be Promotional Graphics. My goal in life is to become an environmental engineer who specializes in alternative energy production. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or you just need someone to talk to, I am here. My job is to make sure that you have an epic experience in TSA.
